Product Overview
High luster deep brown sphalerite in combination with yellow fluorite with purple rims. The sphalerite has a highly distinctive and unique form found only in a series of pockets and only in this orebody. The morphology is reminiscent of wurtzite and when these first came out a pseudomorph after barite was postulated, however, the species is pure sphalerite in a rare form. Advance mining in June 1992. I sold this specimen to Roy Smith at the Syracuse Show in July, 1992. Mr. Smith recently deaccessioned in December, 2011. An absolutely top piece from the discovery and in great condition. Smith #M1320.
