Product Overview

Group of divergent acicular strontianite crystals (individual crystals exceeding 4 cm) with associated light purple fluorite. The strontianite has a fine pinkish hue and good luster. Specimen was collected from the largest and finest strontianite pocket found during Ozark-Mahoning's tenure at No. 1. The hole was right under the back and measured some 2-3 feet wide and 2 feet deep with about 10 inches in height. Luckily, one of the best mineral collectors in the district found the hole and dug the Lion's share of the specimens. Collected April, 1995. From collection of Rick & Deanna Russell and originally acquired from North Star Minerals. Some terminations are broken as is typical of these but overall in very good condition. An excellent miniature/small cabinet 5 x 5.5 x 7 cm.
