Product Overview
DREXEL MINE, LAKE SUPERIOR COPPER DISTRICT, KEWEENAW COUNTY, KEWEENAW PENINSULA, MICHIGAN
The Drexel Mine was a fissure mine near the Delaware mine and was eventually absorbed by the Delaware. These small fissures were locally rich in mass copper and also with other minerals like datolites. This is a nice polished pair 2 x 2.2 and 2 x 3 cm across. Excellent and one of the more rare Michigan copper Country localities. Mined c. 1860s.
